{"id":3163,"date":"2022-12-28T15:39:06","date_gmt":"2022-12-28T15:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/omn.ie\/?page_id=3163"},"modified":"2023-09-01T12:56:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T11:56:56","slug":"warcrimesorpropaganda","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/omn.ie\/index.php\/warcrimesorpropaganda\/","title":{"rendered":"WarCrimesOrPropaganda?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>28 Nodlg 2022: War Crimes or Propaganda?<\/h1>\n<h2>notes and a framework for further investigation.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Justice is just; propaganda is selective and almost always unjust.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I spent a short time at this work and now pass it on to the people concerned with criminal investigations in Ukraine, Russia and the other countries involved in this ongoing tragedy*.<\/p>\n<p>I use two examples of videos produced by &#8220;The New York Times&#8221; and &#8220;Military Mind&#8221;, a \u201cTVP World\u201d Polish propaganda series which is openly pro-war and pro-Ukraine. Both the videos deal with the Bucha incidents, but the link is to the NYT version. I cannot now find the &#8220;Military Mind&#8221; video youtube link, but content is similar to New York Times video quoted)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Exposing the Russian Military Unit Behind a Massacre in Bucha | Visual Investigations\" width=\"669\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IrGZ66uKcl0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Satellite footage &#8211; UN-\u201dREDACTED\u201d can show much of the evidence needed\u2026<\/strong> We are all entitled to view ALL the satellite and other evidence in these and other cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All parties to the conflict should thoroughly investigate this and be given FULL access to the satellite and other evidence,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>otherwise this continues to be what it now is: <strong>PURE PROPAGANDA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Russia, in this case, will surely interview each and every soldier under suspicion &#8211; ON CAMERA, but unpublished until trial day. The same guidelines apply to Ukrainian war crime allegations, though some of these are ON VIDEOs &#8211; made by their own comrades &#8211; actually doing the KILLING.<\/p>\n<p>The essential difference I see between the two bodies of \u201cevidence\u201d is stark:<br \/>\nNO actual video footage of close-up murders by Russians, but much explicit close-up video evidence of killings by Ukrainians.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/southfront.press\/shocking-evidence-of-ukrainian-regimes-essence-video-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/southfront.press\/shocking-evidence-of-ukrainian-regimes-essence-video-21\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/southfront.press\/in-video-18-another-evidence-of-mass-execution-of-russian-pows-by-ukrainian-nazis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/southfront.press\/in-video-18-another-evidence-of-mass-execution-of-russian-pows-by-ukrainian-nazis\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/southfront.press\/video-evidence-confirms-mass-execution-of-russian-pows-by-kiev-forces-in-makeevka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/southfront.press\/video-evidence-confirms-mass-execution-of-russian-pows-by-kiev-forces-in-makeevka\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/apr\/07\/video-appears-to-show-ukrainian-soldiers-shooting-russian-prisoners-of-war\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2022\/apr\/07\/video-appears-to-show-ukrainian-soldiers-shooting-russian-prisoners-of-war<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/southfront.press\/in-video-18-ukrainian-soldier-killed-two-civilians-in-bakhmut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/southfront.press\/in-video-18-ukrainian-soldier-killed-two-civilians-in-bakhmut\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I do not suggest that lack of direct video footage proves innocence, but that it&#8217;s presence greatly strengthens the case against the suspect perpetrator(s).<\/p>\n<p>The propagandists speak of the \u201cFog of War\u201d and these two \u201creports\u201d are from two of the big-picture guilty parties:<br \/>\nThe New York Times, propagandising on behalf of the World\u2019s No. 1 mass killer state the U.S.A.;<br \/>\nand \u201cMilitary Mind, a subsidiary of TVP World, a Polish TV network:<\/p>\n<p>I remind people that every single foreign murder-weapon used by one side of this conflict has travelled through their country &#8211; Poland &#8211; whose government is fully on the side of the main aggressors.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen so much of this type of (often lying) propaganda that I can fairly reliably tell truth from fiction.<\/p>\n<p>Cast your mind back also to the 2014? Maidan incident, when the same shooters were killing both demonstrators and police\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>When ALL the facts are known, we can judge<\/strong> &#8211; and massive evidence is available from satellite footage alone.<\/p>\n<p>And the most anti-justice aspect of this is that the rules of \u201csub judice\u201d have been trampled underfoot by a terrorist r\u00e9gime covering up its own guilt by twisting and fabricating \u201cevidence\u201d to make out that they are the sole victims.<\/p>\n<p>War criminals are the worst causers of hatred and the desire for revenge: they, like the paedophile, gravitate towards careers where they will have \u201caccess\u201d to their victims. <strong>They should all be brought to justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The current example (From the NYT \u201cVisual Investigations\u201d\u00a0 Exposing the Russian Military Unit Behind a Massacre in Bucha) is the antithesis of justice &#8211; names\u00a0 being published of \u201csuspects\u201d before any proof of guilt has been given.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cat 4 locations, we caught soldiers in the act of killing\u201d 2mins 43ff\u00a0 on NYT video but no evidence!!<br \/>\n<strong>This is not the fog of war, but the criminal perversion of the course of justice.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a difference between war crimes and the horror of war.<br \/>\nOnly when solid proof of crime is produced can the term \u201cWar Crime\u201d be used.<br \/>\nOtherwise it is just propaganda.<br \/>\nAll war is evil, but the rules are clear.<br \/>\nSo we need to investigate and when crimes have been committed, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>the perpetrators must be brought to justice &#8211; probably MUCH more!!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Redaction&#8221; (i.e. &#8220;perverting the course of justice&#8221;)<\/strong>\u00a0 by the source would highlight areas of possible guilt.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>EVERY SINGLE SHELL<\/strong><\/span> fired at these residential areas <strong>can be accurately traced<\/strong> &#8211; and it\u2019s origin, even if only proven within a 90 degree source-position area &#8211; the impact-marks will tell which army fired it&#8230; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>SHELL BY SHELL; propaganda is selective and almost always unjust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The definition of &#8220;War Crime&#8221; is in no doubt, but the dividing-line is often fudged for propaganda purposes&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Justice for all is a reasonable goal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>* I need to point out that I only began to take an interest in this war some time in September, so my knowledge is scant.<br \/>\nBut the procedures, if not already in use, are suggested by one who has done some study on war crimes committed in Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>See \u201cThe S.A.S. in Ireland\u201d, by Raymond Murray for some examples of this.<\/p>\n<p>I have also seen a lot of the publicised evidence relating to the 1972 massacre in my home town of Derry called \u201cBloody Sunday\u201d, including seeing the scene the next day&#8230;).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>28 Nodlg 2022: War Crimes or Propaganda? notes and a framework for further investigation.
